Meet Curtis Hames, Sales and Marketing Specialist

October 30, 2016

How did you come to work at Hames-The Homes People®?

"I was born into it! Seriously, I was working in customer service and logistics for CRST, a local trucking company. My dad recruited me to come and work in the family business. I love working here and I’ve never regretted it."

What do you like about selling mobile homes?

"I like providing an affordable housing option. I think the mobile and manufactured homes that we sell have a lot of value compared to condos, apartments, and real estate. I like sharing that value with customers."

What's the best part of your job?

"Handing over the mobile home keys to a buyer. It’s a great feeling for both of us."

You choose to live in a mobile home. Why?

"The space is used efficiently. My utility bills are low. I don’t pay condo association dues and my tax bills are lower."

Compare apartment living versus mobile home living.

"My wife and I lived in an apartment when we first got married. Our neighbors must have been either bowlers or carpenters. The noise would start at 10pm every night. It was very uncomfortable.

"Now we have privacy. We’re not sharing walls with neighbors. We’re expecting our first child in January, and I couldn’t imagine living stacked on top of people with a new baby. And the cost of our mobile home is less than apartment living!"

Tell us something about you that most people don’t know.

"I’m passionate about weight lifting. I participated in the weight lifting competition at the Iowa State Fair last year."

Are you ready to stop throwing away money on apartment living, too? Call Curtis today at (319) 377-4863, or email him at He can show you Hames’ extensive inventory of new and used mobile and manufactured homes for sale. Financing is available to qualified buyers.
