Dear Robin,

It was almost two years ago when my wife, Susie, retired from her job at Hertz corporation and we talked about our next step in our life.  She is a native Iowan and wanted to move back to Iowa from Oklahoma.  I was a native Oklahoman but being the very intelligent husband I am, I told her I loved the idea of moving to Iowa to enjoy our retirement years.  We made a preliminary trip to Iowa to check out places we wanted to live.  Our choice for retirement was a manufactured home community and we found Grandview Village to our liking.  You told us about the various homes you had to offer and we checked them out.  We finally decided on a beautiful Skyline home which was a one owner home built in 2000.

Grandview is just perfect.  My wife has a view of the cornfield from our front window.  She said that was one thing that attracted her to this home.  My thinking is, “happy wife, happy life.” We added a two car garage with a workshop area and a back deck to make it even more perfect for us.  We can’t use the back deck right now though as a robin has nested in our planter and we’re waiting till her eggs hatch so we don’t disturb her.  We enjoy our walks to the park with our dog and riding our bicycles around the park.  Susie enjoys her gardening.  I enjoy growing tomatoes.  That was a perk for me because trying to grow tomatoes in Oklahoma with its drought issue was nearly impossible.

Long story short, we’ve enjoyed living here in Cedar Rapids at Grandview Village.  Everyone has been so helpful and nice from Troy Hames to Marie in the Office, Ryan and Daniel in the red trucks and you, Robin.  We look forward to many more years here and asking many, many questions.  Thank you again for helping us find a home and a lifestyle that has made us very happy.
