What your Manufactured Home Would Like to Tell You

May 18, 2015

Hi! It’s me.  The manufactured home you live in.  I love that you and your family live with me.  All the good times, the bad times, the in-between times, bath time, bed time, dinner time…it means so much to me.  I’m glad to be your home!

I like that you take care of me, too.  Like on the outside, that “skirting” stuff you put around my bottom makes me look fashionable and chic.  Sometimes I get holes in my skirting, but you replace it right away so my pipes aren’t showing.  (Very embarrassing, I’m sure you understand.) I especially love the skirting in the winter because it keeps my belly warm.  Keeps the wild critters out, too.  I don’t like those, they tickle!

Speaking of warm, that heat tape that you put around my water pipe ten years ago might need to be replaced.  And in those sub-zero days in Iowa, you sure don’t want my water circulatory system freezing.  It’s painful to me and a darn nuisance for you.

I was built indoors in a nice warm factory.  The guys that put me together were awesome craftsman.  You bought me from Robin Glover, sales manager at Hames – The Homes People, remember?  He made sure that you got the right home (that’s me!) for you and your family.

I’m so glad I was placed in a Hames CommunityGrand View in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and my sister communities Summit View and West Park are safe and clean.  The neighbors look out for each other, too.  And don’t you love the on-site managers? Marie Hobbs, Ryan Baker and Daniel Hitchman answer right away when you call with a problem.

All my manufactured home neighbors’ yards look great.  Just like mine.  That keeps my aesthetics top-notch and my re-sale value high.  Those tulips you planted last year near our mailbox make the whole place look classy.

Now, one last thing.  Please, please don’t call me the T word.  It makes me feel sad when you call me a “trailer” because I don’t pull horses or cargo or anything like that.  I would really like to be called a manufactured home, 'cause that’s what I am, but if you could at least call me a mobile home, I would appreciate it.  I did come here on my steel frame with wheels and axles. I suppose I could move if you ever HAD to relocate, but we know that you will never do that.  So, technically I am a manufactured home in one of the nicest, and best kept manufactured home communities in the Midwest!

Tell your friends to call Hames-The Homes People ® when they’re ready to upgrade to our manufactured housing lifestyle.  I’ve got some swell friends that are hoping for a new owner like the ones I got.  Sometimes they feel lonely and are truly hoping for the right people to come and buy them.

And did I mention that the Hames people have designed a financing package just for my new friends?  That’s right!  The new manufactured homes (and boy are they awesome) have special low interest rates and…well… just call the nice people at Hames at (319) 377-4863 or contact Hames online and they can tell you all about it!

With grateful appreciation to Cynthia Hames for additional content and editing.
