Giving Back – It’s the Hames Way

December 27, 2013

While shopping at Sam’s Club and Best Buy last weekend, I looked up near the front doors and saw something I hadn’t noticed before.  On the wall near the cashier lines were large oversized bank checks -like the kind the magazine clearinghouses give to surprised sweepstakes “winners”.  The checks displayed various local non-profit organizations and the dollar amount that Sam’s Club and Best Buy had donated.  I thought, “Good for them!”

But wait…isn’t that showing off a bit?  I was taught to give generously, but quietly and not to brag about it.  In the case of these two businesses, I didn’t feel the display was boasting as much as saying, “We care about those around us.”

Hames Mobile Homes and Hames Communities have given to local charities since we started business.  In 2013, for example, we supported local substance abuse treatment programs, food banks, homeless shelters and pregnancy support centers.  Our mobile home dealership in Marion sponsors year book ads for Marion and LinnMar high schools, Xavier High School’s scholarship foundation, and LinnMar’s future business leaders program.  Hames Mobile Homes also sponsors boys’ baseball and girls’ softball teams.

Our mobile home park in West Branch, Iowa contributed to the West Branch Main Street promotion, booster club, sports calendar, after-prom party and public library summer reading program.

In addition to selling beautiful, attractive manufactured homes, we love supporting the towns and schools that support us:  Marion, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and West Branch, Iowa.

Visit one of our five beautiful manufactured home communities in Eastern Iowa.  See why our friendly mobile home parks are the best around.  Visit Hames-the Homes People sales center in Marion, Iowa at 640 Marion Blvd. and view our large inventory of both new and used mobile homes.  You’ll be glad you did!
